Tell me a spooky fact: There's a place in Antarctica called Blood Falls where it looks like the glacier is bleeding, but it's actually really salty, iron-rich water from an under-ice lake. When the iron-rich water is exposed to air it becomes iron oxide aka rust. (I've simplified this a lot.) Sources: Answers with Joe & Wikipedia.
