Breeds in Need

To help boost competition across Conformation, each month there will be a focus on different groups and a chance to win prizes if you help to increase the number of petz in smaller breed rings!

(Please note: all of the following is subject to change as we work out the best way of making this work for everyone involved)

As we're starting this next month, the calendar will start in April. This will also help relieve the pressure from the sheer number of Petzy activities which reset in January!

Each month, a new thread will be posted. In that thread, when you share photos and/or links to petz and breedfiles boosting the groups for the month, you'll be entered into a raffle for some custom petz. You can also talk about the breeds in general, share plans, advertise stud/dams, offer trades, etc - anything that helps promote the less popular breeds!

The following activities will count towards entry:

• Registering petz from breeds with less than 5 petz in the ring / +1 per breed
• Adopting out petz from breeds with less than 5 petz in the ring (includes litters, single adoptions, hexing services, gifts, etc) / +1 per breed, +2 if adopting out 5 or more petz in a breed
• Hexing a new accepted breedfile for any breed in the group / +5 per breedfile
• Hexing a new accepted breedfile for any breed without files in the group / +10 per new breed

When posting in the thread, it would be very helpful it you included how many entries your post gets you at the end of the post! Entries will not count if they're not posted in the month's thread.

If you adopt out a pet from a breed in need, you get +1 entry, and the person adopting also gets +1 when they register the pet (or when they show off a pose for the pet, if registration was transferred to them).
If you adopt out a pet from a breed in need and you register a pet from that breed for yourself, you get +1 for the adoption and +1 for your own pet.

You can find a spreadsheet counting show entries here. For each breed group month, the breeds with less than 5 petz in the ring will be calculated via the previous month's entry average.

When there's a breed group with no breeds with less than 5 petz in the ring, breeds with less than 10 petz will count instead. If there are no breeds with less than 10, breeds with less than 20 will count!

All the entries will be entered into a raffle, and the winner can claim either:

• One hex from any breed (doesn't have to be from one of the month's groups)
• Two hexes from any breed with less than 5 entries (doesn't have to be from one of the month's groups)

Prizes will be hexed by a UKC Conf steward.
