I decided to learn how to create new playscenes! I made the art simple for this challenge, but I'm excited to make more complex scenes in the future.

The playscene I made utilizes a modified horizon, ledges, areas with different footprints, gazing and hanging areas, and an interaction area where if you click on the TV, it turns on! Here are pictures showing the playscene and a video of Snowball the playscene testing cat interacting with the scene!

The video also shows the difference in bounciness between the couch and the floor!

I've really wanted to hex a real breed since forever. I never really thought I would understand how to do it. I've finally taken plunge during Hexer's University and I am so happy to present my contest entry!

Hexed Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
New Skill Demonstrated: Pretty much everything, but especially finally understanding how to use paintballs in Pet Workshop. I used it on the face to add the darker area, the chest and belly to make the underside tan, and also on the shoulder and hip balls to bring the dark color lower from the butt, belly and chest balls.

Hex Name: Newton
New Skill Demonstrated: Using external textures was new to me, I didn't know how to assign different textures, and my game was not super nice about letting me find out as it crashed a lot every time I messed up with texturing. I used three textures for Newton - honey01.bmp, maine4.bmp, and hair1.bmp. I had to go in and texture all of his ballz in lnzpro. His black spots use honey01, his white spots use maine4, and anything else uses hair1 (mostly because if I didn't use it the game would crash!).

Here is a picture of his rl counterpart, planning crime.

A meadow at midnight,
Shadows and fly-light,
A warm summer's grace,
In this tranquil place.

Hex Name: Summer Evenings
New Skill Demonstrated: One of the skills I wanted to work on was the use of [Project Ball]. I've barely used this section but I know it has lots of potential so I took the opportunity to play around with it and see if I could use it to make part of my hex more lifelike. In the end I managed to get this result where the fireflies move somewhat more independently/realistically. There are moments where they take their leave and fly off or through the pet, so it's far from perfect! But overall I am pleased with the result and I definitely learned a lot from my experiments and now have even more ideas where I can apply this approach!
