In honor of the Grand Exhibition happening on April 18th, I wanted to start a little thread asking folks about showing stuff!
This thread's topic is:
What are the most intimidating breeds to start showing?
How can you (or did you) overcome that fear?
Intimidating Breeds to Show
Re: Intimidating Breeds to Show
Hmmm maybe bulldogs? I've only posed two now (and granted, they've had poodle legs), but I find they don't look that great in dali or dane, so it could potentially be a long road to SGCh.
Labs also, for that 3 px/front ankle alignment guideline. I showed a group of labs with even back feet and they did so dang poorly that I'm hesitant to try out any new ones. Plus I personally don't think their tails are all that flattering, so they don't get a nice "curl" at the highest breathing point.

Yeah bulldogz and scotties are so nightmarish. But I think weird mixie dogz are scary for me-- I need to embrace my inner Beth and learn to pose them because they are really fun and shaped.

Dalis and Calis. Because they seem to be the gold standard breeds and when the shows are dominated by them the competition is down to the wire lol
